Calasparra will not be celebrating the September Fiestas this year but in a symbolic gesture the traditional rocket will be launched from the balcony of the Town Hall at midday today, Wednesday.
Various banners referring to the cancelled fiestas the intention to celebrate them next year have been erected at various points in the town.
There will be music from Alvarito de Luna, Blanco y Negro, Funambulista, Martita de Graná and the Association Band of Music of Calasparra.
