Fallen trees and branches blocked several roads in the Calasparra area as a result of strong winds during Wednesday´s storm and 22.8 litres of rain fell per square metre.
The local police advise that the Avenida de la Libertad, near the Health Centre, outside the La Curva restaurant, the Mula road near the Probicasa factory, and part of the Valentín road near the Casa Valera, (see photo) were blocked by damaged trees.
The trees and branches were rapidly cleared by volunteers, Municipal Services and the local police.
