A 250,000 euro investment in the Calasparra cemetry has funded its expansion, new niches and improvements to public access, according to the Town Hall.
Responsible for the cemetery, Antonio Moreno, also announced that public parking facilities had been improved and that the local police would be on duty at the cemetery during All Saints Day to ensure traffic runs smoothly.
Residents of Calasparra traditionally visit the cemetery today to tidy up and place flowers on family graves. During the last few years congestion on the main road from Calasparra in direction of Caravaca and on the cemetery access road has been a major problem on November 1.
