The Town Hall has presented the keys of the town to the frontline workers who put the brake on the Covid-19 epidemic in Calasparra.
The presentation was made on the day of the Commemoration of the Donation of Calasparra to the Order of San Juan of Jerusalem.
During the ceremony the Mayoress of Calasparra, Teresa Garcia, publicly recognised local people and associations who she described as “authentic heroes who over and over again put their health at risk and always in an altruistic way in the fight against Covid-19.”
Representing the people and groups awarded the honour were The Government Delegate and former mayor of Calasparra, Jose Velez; the Commander of the Guardia Civil, Francisco Javier Fernández Lorenzo; the Chief of the local police, Miguel Ángel Martínez Navarro; The Justice of the Peace, Antonia Esperanza Moya del Amor; and the Coordinator of the Civil Protection, César Reales.
