A 48 year old Lithuaian woman, resident of Calasparra, was four times over the legal alcohol limit when she drove off the Mula Road and crashed her car.
The woman was travelling to work in Mula from Calasparra on a straight stretch of the RM-552 when the accident happened. No other vehicles were involved.
The car was badly damaged and the driver had slight injuries.
A police motorcycle patrol attended the scene and noted that the driver was showing “evident signs of having drunk alcohol.” They administered a breathalyzer test and found she was four times over the legal limit (0.25 milligrams of alcohol per litre of air) at 1.11 and 1.14 milligrams per litre.
The driver appeared before magistrates in Caravaca charged with driving over the legal alcohol limit.
