It´s official! The Health Ministry has issued a warning that wearing rubber gloves may give a sense of false protection, could put the person wearing them at risk and may contribute to the transmission of the virus.
Adequately and frequently washing your hands is more effective than using gloves.
If you can´t wash your hands carry a disinfectant gel and use it after touching anything anyone else may have touched: door handles, surfaces etc.
The official advice is:
Do not wear gloves in the street as they could get dirty and contaminate you.
You may infect yourself if you touch your face with contaminated gloves.
Taking the gloves off without contaminating yourself is not simple.
DO WEAR disposable gloves when selecting fruit and vegetables in the shop, as always.
