The
Association Band of Music of Calasparra gained third place in the National
Competition for Bands held in Pînoso
last Saturday.
The Mayor of Calasparra, Jose Velez, the Head of the local Department of
Culture, Teresa Garcia, and friends and family accompanied the band.
Participating bands filled the streets of Pinosa with music as they filed
through the town centre to the Clock Tower.
A band from Alicante won the first prize and second prize went to a band from
Valencia.
The Mayor of Calasparra was “very satisfied” with the local band´s performance
and declared they were good enough to have won the first prize.
