The International Chair of the University of Murcia and the Santander
Bank organised a Summer Campus in Calasparra last week to discuss the strategic
role of universities to raise awareness of social responsibility amongst students
and professors.
A series of micro conferences, debates and workshops combining leisure and
academic activities was organised in the natural surroundings of Calasparra. During
the day the emphasis was on the need to use a circular economic model, also aimed
at future generations and students outside the university environment and/or a
state of wellbeing.
The day was supported by Calasparra Town Hall and the SUEZ Group:
The Mayor of Calasparra, Jose Velez attended a book presentation in the Casa de la Cultura,
“Nine Necessary Debates on Social Responsibility,” edited by David Lafuente,
with testimonies from academics, professors, business leaders, communication
experts and associations and groups of interest.
