Do
you love nature and want to get involved or need activities for your children/grandchildren
to keep them busy during the school holidays? Here are two activities for nature
lovers to get involved in improving the environment in Calasparra.
There will be another Turtle Patrol tomorrow, Thursday July 11, along the River
Segura organized by the LIFE+RipiSilvaNatura Project.
These charming little creatures are an “invasive” species, which are not autochthonous and prejudice the native wildlife on our rivers. The
activity aims to catch them and take them to a sanctuary where they are cared for.
Meet at the Curva Bar at 9am.
Everyone hates flies and bats eat millions of flies every night. Volunteers
from the LIFE+RipiSilvaNatura Project
have made wooden bat refuges and placed them along the river and various other
areas in Calasparra as part of the natural solution of the fly problem.
There will be a monitoring exercise of the bat refuges in Calasparra on Saturday
July 13 between 9.30 and 12.30pm.
Meet at the Vent Reales at 9.30am.
Volunteers are needed for both activities which are free of charge.
