CONTAMINATION AT THE ARGOS RESERVOIR TO BE MONITORED

The Argos reservoir has been declared a “sensitive zone” by the Minister of Environment and Sea in a recent Official State Bulletin.
This announcement signifies a greater control of contamination and additional restrictions on tipping in the area.
This ministerial resolution complies with the European directive 91/271/CEE on the treatment of residual urban water. The order establishes “sensitive areas” where the contamination levels must be monitored every four years and sets a period of seven years for the introduction of a “more rigorous treatment” of residual urban waters in the area.
