After a week of statements and denials comes the inevitable announcement that Murcia cannot support two airports a mere 35 kilometres apart and that San Javier airport will close as the new airport at Corvera opens.
The new airport will be managed by the airport authority, AENA, and the staff from San Javier will all transfer to the new airport.
