One of
the main processions of Easter Week in Calasparra has been cancelled due to the
torrential rain.
The Good Friday procession was due to take place this morning but has been
rained off.
St Peter´s Church will remain open to visitors throughout the day.
The weather forecast for the rest of the Easter weekend is gloomy for anyone hoping
to take in the traditional Easter processions in Calasparra, with the region of
Murcia one of the worst affected.
Storms and heavy rains are expected to continue through until and including Monday.
While the rain will be welcomed by farmers and gardeners, as one resident put
it. “Let it rain as much as it likes but not during Easter week.”
