The ruling
Municipal Socialist party (PSOE) has emphatically denied opposition claims of
“146,000 euros in unjustified expenses” during the fiestas and encierros of
2017, as “lies”.
The governing party has invited any citizen to visit the Town Hall and inspect
the accounts, invoices and receipts, including the 400,000 euros incurred
during the fiestas of 2017.
The opposition party, Ciudadanos, made the claims on Facebook as part of their
election campaign leading up to the elections in April.
Describing the allegations as “indecent” the PSOE claims “this is not the kind
of politics Calasparra deserves.”
The PSOE add that “if the claims were true we would have been denounced and
judged in a tribunal before now.”
