The 60 year old Calasparrian, gravely injured when a bull crashed through the barriers in Calle Mayor during the first bull run of the September fiestas, is well enough to quit the Intensive Care Unit and is currently being cared for on a ward.
Emilio Guirao Marín was being treated in the Intensive Care Unit of the (UCI) Virgen of the Arrixaca Hospital in Murcia with seven broken ribs and injuries to his right lung.
Emilio Guirao Marín, who suffered a perforated lung, was treated and stabilized at the scene before being transferred to hospital by ambulance.
After an operation his condition was reported to be “grave but stable” but today, Monday, the town received the good news that he had been allowed to leave the ITU for treatment on a normal ward and that he was progressing well.
