Local residents from the very young to the not so young gathered in the Casa de la Cultura last Friday night for a “simple but sincere” homage to the poet Federico García Lorca killed by Franco some 75 years ago.
Numerous participants attended the Poetry Reading to mark the 75th anniversary of the poet´s death to read Lorca´s poems. The youngest reader was five years old and the oldest was a magnificent 90 years-old.
The event, organized by the Calasparra Reading Club, ended with a simple tribute, an olive branch, laid at the Monument to the Fallen in the Plaza de la Constitution.
