Some 500 motorists were caught on radar speeding on the region´s road during the Director of Traffic week long campaign between August 15 and 21.
The Guardia Civil monitored a total of 21.501 drivers out of which some 2.33%, 502 motorists, were breaking the speed limits compared to last year´s 1.95%. This year´s figure is the highest in recent years.
Last week the Traffic Section of the Guardia Civil and the local police also administered 1,841 breathalyzer tests of which 74 proved positive, a 3.19%.
