The Head of Security, Pepe Velez, has warned of the danger of liquid ecstasy after three young people from Cieza were drugged and robbed in the “area de copas” in the Recinta Ferial on a Saturday night in July.
Two people from Calasparra, one aged 17 and one aged 24 years, have been arrested and have appeared before the Magistrates Court in Caravaca.
The victims were admitted to the hospital in Caravaca.
According to reports the drug, which is colourless and flavourless, was administered in the youngsters´drinks by the two Calasparrians and they were rendered unconscious. The thieves then stole their mobile phones, money and jewellery.
Young people are warned to be extremely careful with their drinks and to be constantly vigilant as the drug is easily administered and almost impossible for the victim to detect.
Pepe Velez warns the drug may cause loss of consciousness, irreversible coma and in some cases can prove fatal.
