THE WEEK AHEAD IN CALASPARRA

History and history in the making in Calasparra this week and although rain is predicted for midday tomorrow the sun should shine on the medieval celebrations of San Juan during the rest of the week.
Last year the traditional spring rain was an unwelcome guest at the Medieval Banquet and the open air theatrical representation of the “Donation” was rained off. This year temperatures are expected to be slightly lower than recently hovering around a very agreeable 20 or 30 degrees.
On Saturday June 11 at midday the PSOE mayoral candidate, Jesus Navarro, is expected to be invested at a full meeting of the Town Hall in the Sala de Actos following the unanimous decision of the United Left to vote for their own candidate, Ricardo Garcia. The Partido Popular are also expected to vote for their own candidate, Jesus Martinez.
The decision of the United Left not to support any party or enter into any pact signifies that the PSOE will govern Calasparra over the next four years albeit with a minority.
There will be no other business at the investiture on Saturday as this is a purely administrative event. The first meeting of the full Town Hall is expected to be held on the last Thursday in June.
