Almost 14,000 in grants is within the gift of the newly formed Fundación Galindo this year including six grants of 300 euros for local music students to study at the Conservatory of Music in Murcia.
Yesterday the Town Hall of Calasparra signed a collaboration agreement with the Foundation, which has its seat in Calasparra, worth 1000 euros and pledged to create a special budget, through the Department of Culture, for the organization.
The founder and President of the Foundation, Germán Galindo, announced that the first grants would be awarded on June 10 and would include a 12,000 euro grant for a music student of “superior grade” and six smaller grants for local students.
The new foundation aims to support musical education by awarding grants and to promote classical music through concerts and other events in Calasparra.
