Opposition group, Calasparra Viva, has lost a legal action taken out against the Mayor of Calasparra for denying them information and must pay the costs of the hearing.
The Tribunal Superior de Justicia (TSJ) of the Murcia region has rejected the claims of Calasparra Viva that they were denied information about a matter which was put before the full Town Hall Council, finding that the cited documentation was put at the disposal of all the local councilors.
The ruling also found that the documents, concerning an urban municipal promoter, were available for an “ample period of time” and thus no fundamental rights were denied.
Awarding costs the court found that neither the right of participation or of access to information had been breached.
