WHOOPS! SORRY MISINFORMATION ON CASH MACHINE SECURITY: ARTICLE DELETED

The article on Hole in the Wall Cash Machine Security has been deleted from this website following information received from a NEXOnr reader.
We apologize unreservedly for providing misleading information and are indebted to our reader for putting us right so quickly. We reproduce his email here for your information.
Dear NEXOnr,
I read your article on entering your ATM PIN backwards to alert police and as a recently retired IT developer who worked for a bank it immediately struck me as a hoax or urban myth…there are just too many impracticalities with implementing such a measure, and perhaps more importantly the banks wouldn’t make any money from it! I suspect the police would be deluged with people trying it out, and they probably couldn’t attend quickly enough anyway.
I am very sceptical about any claims like this I receive by email and always “google” them to make sure they aren’t scams.
I think that if it ever was implemented, the banks would be falling over themselves to advertise it e.g. «Come bank with us, we are the first to implement Reverse PIN so we are the bank that values your safety the most»!
The editorial team regrets any inconvenience caused by the publication of this article which, according to the information from our reader, is false.
