The new edition of the Plan Renove, with grants towards the cost of substituting old electrical domestic appliances and replacing draughty new windows and doors, was announced in mid January.
The grants range from 50 to 125 euros, depending on the domestic appliance, but may not cover more than 25% of the final price.
On windows and doors the grant may not exceed 1,500 euros per property and the funds must are destined for the purchase of the product and installation.
There are 270 businesses taking part in the scheme all over the region, including companies advertising in NEXOnr. It is anticipated that some 8,500 electrical domestic appliances will be replaced by new energy saving ones through the scheme.
The electrical appliances which qualify under the Plan Renove are categories A, A+ and A++. Families can benefit from the maximum grant on the higher energy saving categories.
The head of the Department of Universities, Businesses and Investigation claims families who take advantage of the grants to replace windows and doors could benefit from savings on domestic energy consumption of up to 260 euros
