Local councillor, Antonio José Merino, attended a meeting of local representatives from 45 local municipal areas with the Government Delegate, Francisco Bernabé, to discuss the recommendations of the Ministry of the Interior for protecting the community in the event of a terrorist attack:
Francisco Bernabé, announced new training methods for the local police and the Guardia Civil as part of a central government initiative to prevent and/or deal with any terrorist attack.
He reminded local mayors that all town halls were currently on a Level 4 alert for such attacks.
All the measures to be employed are set out in the Anti Terror Prevention and Protection Plan, which establishes general measures in the areas of detection, vigilance, and the continual analysis and evaluation of the risks of such an attack.
