The General Director of Traffic has confirmed that 44 of the 90 drugs tests carried out on driver in the Murcia región during Christmas proved positive.
Out of 7,468 breathalyser tests some 94 were positive: 1.25% of the total.
Broken down the drugs tests showed 35 cases of cannibas; 19 of cocaine; 2 for amphetamines and one of opiates. In some cases more than one type of drug was detected.
Drugs tests were only carried on drivers who showed the effects of consuming drugs.
The tests were carried out in de Calasparra, Águilas, Alguazas, Archena, Beniel, Bullas, Cartagena, Jumilla, La Unión, Librilla, Lorca, Los Alcázares, Molina de Segura, Mula, Murcia, Puerto Lumbreras, San Javier, San Pedro del Pinatar, Santomera y Torre Pacheco.
