The local police chief has asked NEXOnr to appeal to residents on the urbanizations, Tierra del Sol and Cañada Verde, to increase security on their homes following a spate of burglaries over the past two weeks.
He told NEXOnr: “Police officers are patrolling the woods around the area every night. We have increased the patrols and we are quietly confident we may have put a stop to this current spate of burglaries.”
“We would appeal to all residents to increase security on their homes, to put bars on all windows and doors and to install an alarm system,” he added.
STAB VICTIM RECOVERING WELL
Official sources confirm that the victim of an attack in Calasparra in the early hours of Sunday morning is “recovering well” in hospital.
The man, who is believed to be from Ecuador but has not been identified, was taken to hospital suffering from a chest wound. Updated information is the wound may have been caused by a broken bottle.
