The Municipal Library has received a cash prize of 1,706 euros, from the Campaign to Promote Reading Maria Moliner (Campaña de Animación a la Lectura María Moliner) for the second year running.
The prize, financed by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport, is an incentive for libraries to organize activities to promote reading in municipal areas of less than 50,000 inhabitants.
Calasparra is one of 300 projects selected for the prize which coincides with World Book Week.
The prize money will be used to buy more books for the library.
