A cash investment of nearly one million euro from the Ministries of Promotion and Culture is destined to make the ruins of the Arab Castle in Calasparra accessible to local visitors and tourists.
Yesterday the Government Delegate, Rafael González Tovar, announced that the 999.696,00 euro grant would fund the construction and recreation of a part of the walls of the first and second enclosures and a stair passageway with wooden steps giving access to the “Tower of Homage” and a viewing platform.
Currently only the ruins of the second belt of walls (the first perimeter walls have been absorbed and integrated into the town) and one or two stones of the flanking towers remain.
