Summer operating hours at San Javier airport will increase by 82% with 523 extra flights offered by Jet2, Air Nostrum and Ryanair thanks to the second run way which was officially opened last Friday.
San Javier airport is part civil and part military and up until now the military had exclusive use of the single runway during the mornings. However, with two runways both the commercial and the military flights can be accommodated at the same time.
The extra summer flights will be available from March 27. The number of flights during September and October will be increased by 48%. There will also be morning flights to Madrid.
