After several attempts to complete the pilgrimage returning the statue of Our Lady of Hope to the Sanctuary on Sunday the organisers decided to call it off due to bad weather.
The pilgrimage began from St Peter´s Church but was marred by rain which eventually drove the pilgrims into the Merced Church.
As the skies darkened and hailstones were predicted hold the organisers decided to abandon the pilgrimage.
The statue was taken to the car park at the Sanctuary where the pole bearers carried it into the chapel.
