Cáritas Calasparra is appealing for donations of non perishable food during the month of May to help the 200 families who the association supports.
Donations can be left at St Peter´s Church or at the Caritas Office from 6 to 8pm Mondays and Wednesdays.
Josefina Miranda, of Cáritas , said, on Radio Calasparra, the association also needed clothes, especially baby clothes, and personal higiene products.
“The people of Calasparra are very generous and supportive and always answer our call,” she added.
She also appealed for volunteers with spare time to spend on people in the local community.
