LOCAL JUNIOR ORIENTEERERS QUALIFY FOR FINAL

Some 14 of the  29 pupils from Calasparras who took part in the orienteering trials held locally on Saturday have qualified for the final which will be held in Alcayna, Molino del Seguro on March 11.
A spokesperson for the Orienteering Club of Calasparra, which organised the trials with Calasparra Town Hall, said: “We had excellent weather and everything went according to plan. The pupils and their parents spent a great morning in a spectacular area known as Los Albares. The objective, which is to promote orienteering, was achieved.”
Noteworthy, amongst the qualifications were Lucía López and Sergio Montoya, who came first in their categories. Also logging good results were Margarita Pérez Montero, Ángela Reales Martínez, Cristina Martínez Martínez, Manuel Rúiz Vera and José María Martínez Gomáriz, who all finished in the first six in their events.
Some 300 pupìls from all over the North of the the Murcia region took part in the trials.
