An audit of the Town Hall´s electricity consumption has produced recommendations which will reduce the annual bill by 130.591 euros and will cut CO2 emissions over 50%.
The energy audit was carried out by the Department of Economic Development, Tourism and Employment through the Department of Promotion (Info), which has analyzed the street and public lighting in the town.
The recommended measures include changing the lighting to LED technology, improving the illumination of sports facilities, improving and adapting remote control devices and the installation of an intelligent control system, at a total cost of 799.183 euros.
The result should be a 64.3% saving on the municipal electricity bill for the year and a reduction in CO2 emissions equal to 150 cars circulating over 12 months.
The Director of Info underlined the collaboration of Calasparra in the Elena Fuesanta Project and said: “Thanks to Town Halls like Calasparra the Murcia region is advancing in strides in the fight against climate change and the reduction of contaminating emissions.”
The Mayor of Calasparra, José Velez, said: “The savings which these measures will deliver, and more important, our contribution to reducing greenhouse gases and other contaminating substances, are two of the objectives of this government team, for this we are grateful to Info for including Calasparra in this scheme.”
