The traditional New Year´s Eve Fun Run (San Silvestre) has raised a massive 749 euros for the UNICEF appeal to provide drinking water in schools in Niger.
The “Drops for Niger” appeal aims to encourage school attenandance by prioviding drinking water in local education centres.
The President of the UNICEF Murcia Committee, Amparo Marzal, received the cheque from the Mayor of Calaspatta, Jose Velez, and said: “ We are most grateful for the collaboration of Calasparra. Every contribution to this programme help children to survive.”
The Mayor thanked the runners, young and older. “Your contribution will translate into hope and future for omse of the poorest people in the world.”
